Steven Muzik worked in Forestry Programs in Chile involving Rural K-8 school forest nurseries. He also was an itinerant "green" resource teacher and worked with SAG fire permits and the INDAP aftosa campaign. After Chile he served again in the PC (Paraguay 1970-72), where he worked on Community Development in remote pioneer ag colonies (Coe Pytá) He was an Ex-PVC teacher at the Colegio San Mateo, Osorno college prep gr 9-12 (72-77), Teacher elem/sec, univ (77-84) MS '81, PhD '83, School Curriculum Director 84-95, Interpreter/Translator 95-present. He writes: "I had no idea to go into education. Teaching experience in Chile led me to get certificates and degrees in US. I had no idea to get married. Marriage to a Chilean affected life choices profoundly!. PC service helped me and put me on career education path. My Spanish skills pushed me willy-nilly into alternatives not otherwise available, first as neophyte teacher with no degree in San Mateo, and then being pushed rather than leaping into postgrad programs in US, with tremendous assistance/inspiration/support from WA State U, and from family.
