Steven Williams worked in a Fisheries Program in Chile concerning research on local fishes at the Catholic University, Valparaiso de Chile. He stayed in this field after Chile, getting his Ph. D. in fisheries at Oregon State University. He was a Professor of Biology at St. Cloud State University, specializing in Ichthyology and Fisheries. He believes that his PC experience stimulated him to focus on a helping profession, since “it reinforced my interest in fishes and in water. At. St. Cloud State University, I worked hard to help students achieve their career goals, including finding aquatic biology students paid summer internships and information on permanent jobs. (PC service provided) practical experience with fishes off the Chilean coast and a cross-cultural experience that prepared me for life at a university.”
